Grey's Anatomy star and photographer Brad Everett Young was one of our own. Love him or hate him, he was the founder of “Jem’s Space” on myspace.com. He shared some great photography of Jem dolls, fashions, and prototypes. The information was not always correct, because his main source didn’t really have a connection to the Jem line. He is a devastating loss to the Jem community.

Carleigh's Road to Hasbro
This it a road map to how Carleigh got her job with Hasbro, through her correspondence. Documents were all acquired through Carleigh Hoff's Estate and not legal infringement is intended. Carleigh applied for sculpture designer and senior designer positions, but was not hired. But in the rejection letter it said that Research & Development might be getting a hold of her for some freelance work. And Girls' Soft did just that, so she freelanced for the first half of 1986 and became a full time employee around August of 1986.

	Carleigh said the first thing she worked on was the Glitter'n Gold fashions, because they were a last minute edition to the 1987 line.

Since the pay-stub was seems to be sent to her house, I wonder if it was her final paycheck.

		The Employee Benefits Profile shows Carleigh was an employee at Hasbro moved to Rhode Island. Better pictures and scans coming soon ... I don't believe I ever scanned the benefits package. Hasbro Bradley Herald - Volume 2 No. 4 1986 includes 3 articles related to Jem, including one about an internal Hasbro award that was given to an employee who worked on development of Jem, because Hasbro was so confident that Jem was going to be a huge success in 1986.

Sadly the site has been taken down -- also check out Carleigh's later work at her web site greenspiritstudio.com, Carleigh's daughter helped her with the website, and is continuing to keep it up in memory of her mother. Carleigh was a true artistic genius.
